New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building

The New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building at 476 Fifth Avenue, an NYC landmark, is in good hands with union contractors and the New York City District Council of Carpenters. This $317 million renovation will provide more public library space, as well as a new entrance on 40th Street, a new learning center, an enlarged exhibition space, and additional room for researchers. Ritz Carlton NoMad

The NoMad Ritz Carlton at 1185 Broadway is another example of the impressive hospitality work completed by the New York City District Council of Carpenters and union contractors. One of the few skyscrapers in the area, this 580-foot-tall hotel features 250 guest rooms, state-of-the-art amenities, and a panoramic view of the city. Moynihan Train Hall

The newly completed Moynihan Train Hall has nearly doubled the existing Penn Station rail complex. This has given city commuters a new spacious and world-class transit hub. The 255,000 square foot train hall provides a direct connection to the Eighth Avenue Subway entrance and access to the 9th Avenue entrance for the first time. 425 Park Ave.

425 Park Avenue will provide 667,000 square feet of office space with a new restaurant on the ground floor. This billion-dollar project, an 897-foot-tall, 47-story commercial skyscraper in Midtown East, will be the first full-block tower on Park Avenue in over 50 years. Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan, the renovation includes new interiors as well as three new floors added over the original roofline. An expansive outdoor terrace that wraps around the structure will serve as an impressive event space. Nordstrom NYC

For Seattle-based retailer Nordstrom, only the best would do in its new Manhattan location at the base of the Central Park Tower on 57th St. and Broadway. Visitors are greeted by a wavy, transparent glass curtain wall leading into seven stories and 320,000 square feet of unparalleled luxury shopping space.

Kosciuszko Bridge

Led by the Skanska-Kiewit-Ecco III joint venture on Phase 1 and Granite Construction Northeast on Phase 2, this $873 million project to replace the aging Kosciuszko Bridge that connects Brooklyn and Queens was completed on-budget and four years ahead of schedule with union carpenters and contractors. The TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport

The historic TWA terminal at JFK Airport is once again open for business after a complete redesign and renovation as a hotel. The new design is inspired by the 1960s space-age futurism, paying homage to the building’s golden era. This development features union-made luxury interiors and a stunning natural-light lounge with floor to ceiling windows. The New York Proton Center

New York’s very first proton treatment center opened in 2019 in East Harlem. Millwrights from Local Union 740 of the New York City District Council of Carpenters, working with Bay Crane, did the critical alignments with an unparalleled level of precision for this cutting-edge cancer treatment facility. Union contractors also worked on the drywall, interiors, and furniture installation for this project.
