Revitalizing Coney Island Hospital

The construction and renovations at Coney Island Hospital are well underway, thanks to the skilled and dedicated work of union contractors and the New York City District Council of Carpenters. Coney Island Hospital has always been an important element of Brooklyn, and now, with these new additions taking shape, we can look forward to improved medical facilities and services that cater to the growing needs of the community.

Over a decade ago, Hurricane Sandy devastated the community and flooded much of Coney Island Hospital. Now, with nearly $1 billion in funding, the city’s public hospital system was able to construct a fortress designed to withstand even a once-in-a-century flood.

Nineteen union contractors and the New York City District Council of Carpenters are bringing their expertise to this project. Their precision and detailed work on these facilities is a wonderful example of their skilled craftsmanship. The construction of Coney Island Hospital is not just about erecting a facility, it’s about building a brighter future for our community.
