Gowanus Canal Cleanup moves forward

Rainstorms and flooding have brought numerous problems to NYC’s public spaces and waterfronts. To rectify this issue, union contractors and the New York City District Council of Carpenters have started work on one of two underground storage tanks that will prevent almost 12 million gallons of sewage from entering the Gowanus Canal. This project is a major step forward in the cleanup of the Gowanus Canal, and our highly skilled union contractors and carpenters will help to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all New Yorkers.
