The House by Handel Architects project at the Cornell Tech site

The House at Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island is a Passive House with an ultra-low energy certification and 352 apartments for students and faculty. Union carpenters worked with contractors including Anchormen Construction for the foundation, SBF Contracting for the concrete superstructure, Exterior Erecting Services and Duggan & Marcon for exterior wall panels, Woodworks Construction for interior finishes, and Re:Source New Jersey for flooring.

MANHATTAN WEST

Brookfield Properties is developing this 7 million square feet mixed use project that includes offices, housing, a hotel, retail and a public plaza built over rail lines. Union carpenters and contractors are now working on this $4.5 billion project in the Hudson Yards neighborhood.

Brooklyn Point

Construction at 138 Willoughby Street, also known as Brooklyn Point, is nearing completion. This 68-story, 720-foot-tall skyscraper will be the tallest tower in the borough. Union contractors Universal Builders Supply Inc., Safway Atlantic, Insulation Contractors Inc., R&J Construction Corp., and Urban Foundation/Engineering are working with the New York City District Council of Carpenters to put the finishing touches and this addition to our skyline.

The TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport

The historic TWA terminal at JFK Airport is once again open for business after a complete redesign and renovation as a hotel. The new design is inspired by the 1960s space-age futurism, paying homage to the building’s golden era. This development features union-made luxury interiors and a stunning natural-light lounge with floor to ceiling windows. Contractors on this project include Wood Pro 2 Installers, Inc., Oxford Electronics, Inc., Sorbara Construction Corp., and Consolidated Carpet working with the New York City District Council of Carpenters.
