Modernizing a medical campus doesn’t mean putting patient care on pause. Union contractors and carpenters with the New York City District Council of Carpenters are performing renovation and build-out work at NYU Langone Health’s medical campus at 333 East 38th Street in Murray Hill. The facility is home to the NYU Langone Orthopedic Center, Outpatient Surgery Center, and ambulatory care services for the Perlmutter Cancer Center, Rusk Rehabilitation, and Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital.

Work is underway across six floors and includes interior systems, finish woodwork and millwork, floor covering, furniture installation, insulation, asbestos abatement, and concrete work. Union crews are working throughout the orthopedic and ambulatory care spaces, including the surgery suite on the seventh floor.

Renovating clinical space within an active healthcare facility brings its own set of demands. A new federal workplace is taking shape in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Union contractors and carpenters with the New York City District Council of Carpenters are completing build-out work at 1166 Avenue of the Americas, where the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is relocating into approximately 147,500 square feet of office space within the 44-story tower.

Located along the Bryant Park corridor between West 45th and West 46th Streets, the project is creating new office space for the federal agency within one of Midtown Manhattan’s busiest commercial districts. Union contractors and carpenters are installing architectural metal and glass, custom woodwork, and specialty installations throughout the space.

Union contractors and carpenters with the New York City District Council of Carpenters built 125 West 57th Street, delivering a 30-story, 260,000 square foot tower designed to meet the demands of boutique financial firms and family offices seeking premium Midtown space.

Rising 420 feet along Billionaires’ Row, the building features 185,000 square feet of full-floor office space with 14-foot ceiling heights, a dedicated amenity floor with lounges and meeting spaces, over 4,000 square feet of outdoor terraces, and 7,000 square feet of street-level retail. The development also includes a new six-story home for the historic Calvary Baptist Church.
